Summer Vacation and Your Teeth

/, Root Canal/Summer Vacation and Your Teeth

Are you getting ready for that last summer vacation? If so, Dr. Scott A. Norton (Endodontist in Louisville, KY) recommends that you pay particular attention to your teeth before traveling.

Did you know that flying in an airplane can disrupt an inflamed tooth? A mild toothache or twinge can turn into excruciating pain mid-flight. The change in pressure and altitude can disrupt your tooth much like the way your ears pop. Unlike your ears, the pain won’t necessarily be relieved once you are on the ground and the pressure has stabilized. Therefore, leaving you with throbbing tooth pain for the rest of your vacation.

You deserve some R&R and should be able to enjoy every second of it. Therefore, if you are planning to travel and have tooth discomfort, don’t put it off until after your vacation. Please feel free to schedule an appointment with Dr. Scott Norton and enjoy your vacation.

Happy summer and safe travels.
